Craps bets - don’t pass bet
Placing a don’t pass bet means
that you are hoping for the opposite result to a pass
line bet.
To make this bet, simply place your chips on the area
marked pass line. If a 2 or 3 is rolled on the come-out
roll, you win immediately at even money. If you roll
a 7 or 11 you lose immediately. Normally, you neither
win nor lose if a 12 is rolled on the come out roll.
If a point is established by the shooter, and he continues
to roll, then a don’t pass bet will win if a 7
comes up before the point is repeated. This is the opposite
of a pass line bet.
This type of bet leaves you with a stronger chance
of losing immediately than with a pass line bet, but
conversely, a better chance of winning if a point is
established. Overall, the bets are statistically the
same, with a house edge of 1.4% (There is a 0.01% difference
in favour of pass line bets if the percentages are taken
to the next decimal place).
