Craps betting strategies - Craps tournaments

There are many craps tournaments around. Although most take place in America, it is possible to find them throughout Europe as well.

Tournament craps is different than the normal game in that the objective is to win more money than your fellow players. In tournament craps it is not the casino you are trying to beat.

Although there is no proven method of success at tournament craps, the following guidelines are things you should watch out for if you decide to play.

1. Most casinos charge an entrance fee but many of these state that the losers will get their fee returned with the equivalent in prizes. These are the ones you should go for.

2. Always contact the casino beforehand to find out how many players will be entering the tournament, and to obtain a copy of the rules specific to that casino.

3. Play conservatively at the beginning of each round and aggressively towards the end.

4. A good tactic on the last few rolls is to make a proposition bet with high payoffs in order to catch or pass the leader. Although this is high-risk play, it is often your only salvation.
